The Digital Story Archive is a unique resource which supports the development of Blackpool Museum. It aims to celebrate Britain’s love affair with the seaside holiday and Blackpool’s contributions to popular entertainment by capturing the stories of Blackpool people, its visitors and entertainers.

We are working with volunteers and the community to collect people’s stories using audio-recordings, filmed interviews and digital stories.

Digital stories are a major part of this work. These are unique short films written and voiced by storytellers that illustrate an important part of their lives.

In 2016, the Museum team and volunteers, with training and mentoring from Curiosity Creative, created the first five digital stories. These and more recent films are featured below.

Want to get involved? Do you have a story to tell?

We are keen to collect stories which illustrate seaside holidays in Blackpool, popular entertainment, magic, circus and ballroom dancing. These could include personal stories about your career or talent, a family holiday, a memorable event, a special place, or meeting a famous person in Blackpool. Please get in touch to discuss your story.
